Desert Princesses
Cornell Fashion Collective 34th Annual Fashion Show 2018. I was in Level 2, for 2nd year Cornell Fashion Collective designers, in the fashion show and the theme was Desert. I was inspired by deserts and history in Egypt, more specifically the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra.

Glitter and Gold
Model: Chance Masloff
Created: 5/30/2016
Class: Introduction to Draping; Cornell Fashion Collection Fashion Show
Technique: Draping, Optitex, Half-scale draping
Inspiration: Inspired by the performers who escort the elephants and horses into the ring to perform, my model, Chance Masloff, is photographed in the ensemble I created for the 2017 Cornell Fashion Collective show for the designated theme “Circus”. The female circus performers mesmerized me as a child as they dared to walk so confidently with the large and unpredictable animals. The runway design represents my interpretation of an atmosphere that combines spectacle with risk-taking. My intention was to create something dazzling, but also mythical and romantic for the audience, paying tribute to these lovely ladies. Therefore, the dress is intricate like an extravagant festival full of pageantry, beautiful like a circus animal, and bold like a daring performer.
Materials: Gold jacquard, black and gold brocade and trim, black and red feathers, red neoprene, black and red beaded flapper trim

The England Dress
Model: Chance Masloff
Created: 5/15/2016
Technique: Draping
Class: Introduction to Draping
Inspiration: I was inspired by immigration through conquering. The dress I made represented my father’s side of the family that dated back all the way to William the Conqueror. He was the Duke of Normandy, and during his time as Duke, by 1064, he conquered two provinces. Though what inspired the dress was his battle for the English throne in 1066. Breaking down the dress, William is represented by the gold jacquard fabric and England is represented by the blue brocade fabric. So, the top half of the dress (from the top to the waist) is Harold’s and William’s conflict with each other and William setting up camp in England getting ready for the battles to come. The bottom half is William taking the English throne back from Harold and making England his. The English blue skirt is completely covered up by the gold liquid-like floor length skirt representing his reign and immigration to England from 1066 to 1087.
Materials: Gold jacquard, blue and gold brocade, gold/black icy polyester chiffon

Plafond de Verre
Created: 5/10/2017
Class: Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Technique: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; Technical Flats
Inspiration: The inspiration and design intent for this group project was to break the glass ceiling and empower women with their clothing by using bold and strong colors just like the women we are designing for. As women, when we go out into the workforce after college we have to be aware that we might not be treated equally as men according to statistics, especially in fields like: mathematics, computers, engineering, officers and education.
Materials: adobe illustrator and adobe photoshop

work of art.
